August 2008

The 3rd was a stolen Sunday lunch with my friend Amanda Freeberg. It was so good to catch-up & see her new house! It is lovely!

Oh no…the Girls are at it again!!

The 9th was a very busy day. The day started with a visit from my dear friend Brian Miles. We had a delightful lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. It was so good to catch up and to see him before his departure for Seminary on the East Coast.

Then it was off to partake in Amanda & Sean Donovan’a wedding. It was a beautiful event! As you can see we all had a great time!

After a month of working I decided that it was time to take a break! So on Tuesday the 19th I headed south to see my beloved Katie Huber & family for lunch. It was the first time that I have seen them since their 2nd child Gabriel was born. He is beautiful & Izzy is a true delight! Katie’s mother & sister Jane dropped by for a surprise visit. It was great to see them all!

I meet my beloved Chrissy Nilsen for dinner @ Red Robin. Her husband is a LOVE!! He watched the girls so that Chrissy & I could have an adult girl night. It was PERFECT!! We talked in Red Robin for 3 ½ hours. Then we went back to her house & helped Erik put the girls to bed. It was so much fun! The girls are perfect angels! Then Chrissy & I sat on her front porch for another couple of hours. What a perfect day!!

Mom, Dad & Sheri all needed a break too…so off to Winter Park we went. The 20th – 22nd was a greatly needed retreat! We played our annual (when we are in Winter Park that is) Miniature Golf Tournament. Road the Alpine Slide & enjoyed the God’s creation!

On the 24th Miss Sarah Waiss was a love & drove up to Denver to see me. She was such a trooper! We spent the day driving around Denver looking for drinking glasses that Momma fell in love with.

My long journey back to LA started on the 31st.

July 2008

The 1st of July brought a very strange audition for Japanese TV. The director had just arrived from Japan. I auditioned for him through a translator. Thanks to my cousin Naomi I was versed in Japanese etiquette and made a great impression.

My cousin Naomi Tucker & I went out to Ventura to visit our Great Aunt Jane for an afternoon treat. The afternoon consisted of a wrong turn (which ended up being right) leading us to a fruit stand. Naomi and I decided to share a flat of strawberries, which of course we shared with Auntie Jane. I swear they were the best strawberries that I have had this year. After our detour we had dessert at Marie Calendar’s. The only thing that was missing was Grandpa & Grandma. Otherwise it was a perfect afternoon.

On the 15th I audition for Life on NBC. The audition was on the Universal back lot. It was a total LA moment. Can we say surreal?! I got out of my car to find the bungalow I was going to be auditioning at. As I walked across the parking lot one of the Universal Studio trams was touring the area I was walking in. The people on the trams pull out their cameras and start taking pictures of me. Like they knew who I was…it was crazy! My wild adventure continued as I auditioned. I am in the bungalow auditioning for the casting director. The walls were so thin that I could hear the next tram tour passing by. It seriously was one of the most bizarre experiences that I have had in LA.

I left for Denver late on the 17th & arrived on the 18th. My first couple of weeks in Denver was work, work, work. All it seemed that we did was unpack Mom & Dad’s house.
